Awesome vegan Italian food! We've eaten there 3 times recently. My favorite items I've tried are the chickn tetrazzini (surprisingly creamy!), mozzarella sticks, & sub sandwiches (topped with crisp veggies, vegan cheese, and seitan based "meats"). I've also had their thin crust pizzas twice which are quite good with tons of toppings options. (I have yet to try their deep dish pizza) They have outdoor patio seating and a large indoor seating area, including a bar with local brews on tap. Definitely kid friendly, too. Plant-based food that appeals to both vegans and carnivores alike!
My constructive comment would be that they fix their hanging light-up sign outside - the writing is very small and it's hard to tell if it's the right place at first. -

I loved the option to have a vegan deep dish pizza while visiting Chicago. The House of Za is a good place - not the best place I've ever been in my life, but I certainly liked it.
We ordered the lasagna, and 5 minutes later were told they didn't have any, so we switched to garlic knots instead of a different pasta. The knots were okay - definitely not garlic knots, but tasty nonetheless.
As for the pizza, it was good, and maybe even better cold the next day. We got traditional, no toppings, and it was huge. Two of us each only had 1 slice because that's like 3 normal slices.
Good place, I'd recommend going early because the pizza takes a while (40-45 minutes since it's deep dish) and before the place gets packed. -

This is the best pizza in Chicago. Vegan or otherwise.
Super kid friendly, and comfortable space to eat-in. The desserts are always awesome too.
We love that it's owned by a vegan family, it's a really special place! -

I finally went up here and ordered the pizza that I've been stalking for over a year.
1. The pizza is good...however I like Kitchen17 pizza better!
2. Super cute space with a bar area and a sit down vibe. Very nice
3. Tons of options for pizza so there's something for everyone.
Overall, I liked it a lot, but I like Kitchen 17 better. -

Can't believe how great this vegan pizza was. Cashew cheese is made in house and incredibly tasty. The crust was phenomenal and all in all comparable to traditional pizza. Hearty meal and great service.
